STEPS OF RENEWAL

Each piece has gone through the following "steps" of renewal:

1. carefully cleaned using a variety of methods

2. treatment using non-toxic Boracare to kill any remaining pests

3. left to dry thoroughly in the sun

4. nails, hooks, joiners, staples and other hardware removed one at a time from each piece 

5. sanded using grit from 30 up to 600, depending on the piece

6. cleaned for a second time

7. measured and cut to size for the desired product

8. sanded again

9. stained, painted, and/or treated with polyurethane  (often multiple coats) 

10. depending on the piece, hand-painted and/or decorated with accessories, painted, etc.
